Informed Consent to Participate in Research

1. Purpose of the study

You are invited to take part in a research study conducted through Hartley University. This study examines how short daily mindfulness practice affects focus and stress among undergraduate students.

Your participation will involve completing brief weekly questionnaires and a 20-minute interview over an eight-week period. Approximately 120 participants will take part.

2. Voluntary participation & withdrawal
Your participation is entirely voluntary.

You may decline to answer any question and may withdraw from the study at any time, for any reason, without penalty and without affecting your standing, grades, or relationship with the University. If you withdraw, you may ask that your data be removed.

3. Risks, benefits & confidentiality
  • I understand the risks of this study are minimal and that there is no direct payment for taking part.
  • I understand my responses will be kept confidential and reported only in aggregate, without identifying me.
  • I have had the chance to ask questions about the study, and they were answered to my satisfaction.
