A Life Remembered

Eleanor Jane Whitfield, 88, passed away peacefully on July 19, 2026, surrounded by her family. Born in Cedar Falls, Iowa, she spent forty years teaching third grade, where generations of children learned to read at her kitchen-table classroom.

She is survived by her son Thomas, her daughter Miriam, five grandchildren, and a garden of heirloom roses she tended for half a century.
