Maria Delgado, MSN, RN
Nurse Manager, Cardiac Telemetry (5 West)
UC Davis Medical Center
2315 Stockton Blvd, Sacramento, CA 95817

Dear Ms. Delgado,

On a telemetry floor, the quietest shifts are the ones you planned for. Across seven years of acute care at Mercy General Hospital — the last four as charge nurse on our 36-bed medical-surgical/telemetry unit — I've learned that steady patient outcomes come from steady systems: clear assignments, early rounding, and a team that trusts its lead. I'd be proud to bring that same calm to the Charge Nurse opening on UC Davis Medical Center's cardiac telemetry unit.

The numbers I'm proudest of are the ones that mean a patient went home safely. When I led the rollout of an hourly-rounding protocol on our unit, our patient-fall rate dropped 28% over twelve months. Across more than 200 shifts I've sustained 98% medication-administration accuracy using Epic BCMA barcode scanning, all while coordinating 1:4–1:5 assignments and serving on our code-response team.

UC Davis's commitment to evidence-based practice is exactly the environment where I do my best work.

Just as important to me is the next generation of nurses. I precept new-graduate RNs every rotation, and in 2023 I was honored as a DAISY Award nominee for the kind of bedside teaching that never shows up in a chart. As a CMSRN who keeps BLS, ACLS, and PALS current, I'm ready to step onto a cardiac unit and contribute from day one — and to help strengthen the mentoring culture an academic medical center depends on.

I'd welcome the chance to talk about how my telemetry and charge experience can support your unit's goals. Thank you for considering my application; my resume is enclosed, and I'd be glad to share references or clinical specifics whenever it's helpful.

Warm regards,

Priya Raman
