Letter from the founder

We set out to build a food company that gives more than it takes.

Twelve years ago, we planted Verdant on a simple premise: that the food system could be honest about its costs and generous about its contributions. The numbers on this page represent thousands of small, unglamorous decisions — swapping a shipping lane, retrofitting a boiler, rewriting a supplier contract to include regenerative clauses.

Achieving 100% renewable energy three years ahead of schedule is the headline. But I'm most proud of our cooperative partnerships: 47 smallholder farms across three continents now receive a 12% soil-health premium on every harvest, paid directly, with no intermediaries. That is the shape of the transition we believe in.
