Daniel Reyes, P.E.
Director of Mechanical Engineering, New Product Introduction
Kingsley Drive Technologies
4900 Reading Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45229

Dear Mr. Reyes,

The actuator platform I shipped last year started as a sketch and a cost target nobody thought was reachable. Bringing a brushless-motor design from concept to 40,000+ units in its first production year — while a DFM/DFMA redesign collapsed 11 parts into 4 and pulled 22% out of per-unit cost — is the kind of concept-to-volume work I want to keep doing, and it is exactly what Kingsley Drive Technologies' Mechanical NPI Engineer role is built around. I'd welcome the chance to bring that discipline to your motion-control product line.

My strongest work lives at the intersection of analysis and the factory floor. At Meridian Motion Systems I ran FEA and steady-state thermal analysis in ANSYS to qualify designs to a 40°C ambient and 2.5G shock spec, raising rated continuous torque 18% with no frame-size change. I author fully toleranced drawings to ASME Y14.5 GD&T — holding press-fit bores to ±0.012 mm — and that rigor lifted first-pass inspection yield from 91% to 99.2%. None of it ships without operations, so I own DVT and PVT builds and the engineering-change process through PLM (Windchill) alongside electrical, firmware, and contract-manufacturing partners.

I design for the tolerance the line can actually hold, not the one that looks clean on a drawing.

That mindset is why earlier weight and reliability problems became savings rather than recurring escapes. Right-sizing a frame weldment with FEA removed 9.4 kg of steel per unit while keeping deflection under 0.5 mm at rated load — roughly $78K a year in material — and an 8D root-cause on a bearing failure cut warranty returns on that line 64%. As a licensed P.E. and ASQ Six Sigma Green Belt, fluent in SolidWorks, CATIA V5, and AutoCAD, I read a cost and quality problem the same way the manufacturer does.

I'd value the chance to talk through how my volume-manufacturing and tolerancing experience can support your NPI roadmap. Thank you for your consideration; my resume is enclosed, and I'd be glad to walk through drawings, analysis, or design reviews whenever it's useful.

Sincerely,

Liam Foster
