Dear Ms. Whitfield,
A clinic runs on time when the person rooming patients is already two steps ahead of the provider. Over five years across busy family-medicine and multi-specialty practices in the Phoenix valley, that's the role I've grown into — and it's exactly why the Medical Assistant opening with North Mountain Medical Group's Adult & Family Medicine team caught my attention.
As Lead Medical Assistant at Desert Ridge Family Medicine, I room and prepare 28–34 patients a day across three providers, charting vitals, chief complaints, and medication reconciliation in Epic with 99% documentation accuracy. I draw 15–20 venipuncture and capillary samples daily with a near-zero redraw rate, run EKGs, and administer injections and immunizations per protocol — all while keeping nine exam rooms turnaround-ready to OSHA and CDC standards and passing every quarterly compliance audit.
I also know the front office is where access either works or breaks. At Sonoran Multispecialty Clinic I handled insurance verification and prior authorizations for 40+ patients weekly, cutting claim rejections 18% with cleaner eligibility checks, and tightened rooming and call-back cadence to trim wait-room time by 12 minutes. I'm a bilingual English/Spanish CMA who also holds CPT phlebotomy and EKG certifications and keeps BLS/CPR current — and I've trained four new assistants on rooming, sterilization, and EHR charting, cutting onboarding from six weeks to four.
I'd welcome the chance to talk about how I can keep your providers on schedule and your patients at ease. Thank you for considering my application; my resume is enclosed, and I'm glad to share references or clinical specifics whenever it's helpful.
Warm regards,
Sofia Marquez
