Re — Termination for Convenience
Tower 9 Structural Steel Subcontract
Dear Mr. Halverson,
Pursuant to Article 11.2 (Termination for Convenience) of the Master Subcontract Agreement referenced above, Meridian Build Group hereby provides written notice of its election to terminate the Tower 9 Structural Steel Subcontract. This termination is for the convenience of the owner and is not based on any default or deficiency in Halverson Steel & Fabrication's performance, which has been satisfactory throughout.
Notice Period
This notice satisfies the 30-day written-notice requirement under Article 11.2. All field work shall demobilize in an orderly sequence over the notice period.
Effective Date
July 31, 2026
To ensure a clean handoff, the following transition items must be completed on or before the effective date. Our project manager will coordinate directly with your superintendent to sequence each step against the active erection schedule.
Transition & Close-Out
01
Final InvoicingPayment
Submit your final invoice for all work performed and materials fabricated through the effective date, including the demobilization allowance. Approved amounts — estimated at $284,500 — will be processed within 30 days of receipt.
02
Equipment ReturnSite
Remove all owned equipment, rigging, and temporary fall-protection from the Tower 9 site by the effective date. Meridian-supplied hoisting access and the laydown yard remain available through July 28 to support demobilization.
03
Knowledge TransferRecords
Deliver all as-built shop drawings, mill certifications, weld inspection reports, and the bolt-torque log for completed connections to our QA/QC lead. A two-hour close-out walkthrough will be scheduled the week of July 21.
Halverson Steel & Fabrication remains responsible for the warranty on all installed work and for any latent defects, as set out in Article 14 of the Master Agreement. These obligations survive this termination. Meridian will release retainage on completed, accepted work in accordance with Article 7.
Please direct any questions about close-out, final payment, or scheduling to Anika Vélez, Senior Project Manager, at (503) 555-0193 or [email protected]. We value the work your crews delivered on Tower 9 and look forward to working together on future projects.
Sincerely,
Theodore Marsh
