This Release of Liability and Assumption of Risk ("Agreement") is made between Ridgeline Trail Collective (the "Provider") and the undersigned Participant. The Provider organizes the weekend group hike along the Cascade Falls and Wapato Ridge trails, covering roughly 11 miles over two days with moderate to challenging terrain, sustained elevation gain, and short rocky scrambles (the "Activity"). By signing below, the Participant agrees to the following terms.

1Assumption of Risk

The Participant understands that hiking in the backcountry carries inherent risks that cannot be eliminated, and chooses to take part voluntarily and with full knowledge of those risks, including:

The Participant accepts these and all other risks of the Activity, whether known or unknown, and takes full responsibility for their own preparation, fitness, footwear, and gear.

2Release & Waiver of Liability

In exchange for being permitted to take part, the Participant releases and discharges the Provider, its organizers, trip leaders, volunteers, and members from any claim, demand, or cause of action for injury, illness, death, or property loss arising out of the Activity, except for harm caused by the Provider's gross negligence or willful misconduct. The Participant waives any such claim on behalf of themselves, their family, and their heirs and representatives.

3Hold Harmless & Indemnification

The Participant agrees to hold harmless and indemnify the Provider and its organizers and volunteers against any loss, liability, or expense — including reasonable costs of a rescue or evacuation — that arises from the Participant's own actions, condition, or failure to follow trip leaders' reasonable instructions during the Activity.

4Medical & Emergency Authorization

The Participant confirms they are physically able to take part and have disclosed any condition that may affect their safety. If the Participant cannot consent in an emergency, they authorize trip leaders to arrange first aid, transport, or emergency medical care, and agree to be responsible for the cost of that care. Emergency contact: Sam Avery — (360) 555-0173.

Acknowledgment

I have read and understand this entire Agreement, including the assumption of risk and release above. I am signing it freely and voluntarily, without any inducement, and I intend it to be binding on myself, my family, and my heirs.
