Make a Graduation Certificate That Actually Gets Framed

"Graduation certificate" covers a lot of ground. Some are intimate — a kindergarten teacher's hand-illustrated keepsake for 22 five-year-olds. Some are formal — a 200-year-old institution's parchment diploma with three deans' signatures. The design conventions span from playful to solemn, but they share a common DNA: institution at the top, recipient name in the largest type, what they did in the middle, signatures and date at the bottom.

Pick Your Level First

Before you describe the certificate to the AI, decide where on the formality spectrum you sit:

• Preschool / kindergarten / elementary "moving up" — warm fonts, bright colors, often illustrative. Save photos for separate keepsakes; the certificate itself stays text-and-color.
• Middle / high school graduation — semi-formal. School colors visible, traditional fonts, single signature usually (Principal). Often the first "real" certificate the student receives.
• Associates and bachelor's degrees — formal. Institution seal, conferral language, 2-3 signatures (Dean, President), Latin honors if applicable. Frame-worthy by default.
• Master's, MBA, PhD — most formal. Larger format sometimes, more signatures, heavier paper stock when printed.
• Bootcamps, certificate programs, continuing education — design varies. Tech bootcamps often use modern minimalist designs; traditional certificate programs lean classical.

Describing It to the AI

The minimum description that produces a great certificate:

"[Level] graduation certificate for [Institution Name], conferred on [Date], signed by [Signer 1] ([Title]) and [Signer 2] ([Title]). School colors are [primary] and [secondary]. [Optional: institutional motto, special honors, ceremony name]"

If you want a specific tone, add it: "more formal," "playful but readable," "modern minimalist," "classical with traditional borders." The AI tunes accordingly.

• Frame size. Standard letter (8.5 × 11) and A4 fit the cheapest frames at every office store. Larger formats (11 × 14, 11 × 17) need specific frames.
